CTEMPs Instrument Center

Centers for Transformative Environmental Monitoring Programs (CTEMPS)The Center for Transformative Environmental Monitoring Programs (CTEMPs), originally started j by Oregon State University, Corvallis, and the University of Nevada, Reno, and funded by the National Science Foundation, provides short and intermediate term project access to five field-deployable DTS systems and UAS which can be shipped directly to project sites. We have undergone an expansion of our instrument fleet through a new NSF MRI grant. In 2023, CTEMPs was renewed by the National Science Foundation for four years, and we are proud to announce our new team members going forward, Adrian Harpold from UNR has taken the reins as CTEMPs Principal Investigator, along with Mark Hausner from the Desert Research Institute, Eileen Martin from the Colorado School of Mines and Meagan Wengrove from Oregon State University.  John Selker continues as the lead for Oregon State University and I step back to serve as co-PI and general ‘gadfly” on the project! Going forward, we are also expanding our instrumentation to include Distributed Acoustic Sensing and have recently formed a Federation of Facilities to provide improved service in the area of uncrewed aircraft systems of sUAS. We are excited to work with our new partners from Earthscope, NCALM, NHERI-RAPID and Opentopography.  You can access instruments and learn about the Federation at UASFederation.org.
